Pre-Spring Break Update

Aanii,

Powwow is officially THREE WEEKS AWAY!! If you are interested in volunteering and have not signed up yet, please contact a committee member as soon as possible.

We had a meeting yesterday afternoon to go over some things before spring break, and many of us went to Audra Simpson's lecture afterward on her new book Mohawk Interruptus.

There will not be a meeting over spring break (next week) as many of us will be out of town. We will send out an email as soon as the next meeting is scheduled, but for now, plan on Thursday nights.

Please start spreading the word about powwow! It is March 19th & 20th at Saline Middle School, all day, and there will be free shuttles available from the Student Union at the University of Michigan.

Also, please mark your calendars for Monday, March 14th @ 7:30 PM. We will be stuffing packets for dancer registration and getting some other last minute things accomplished. It will probably be a rather long meeting so if you can't make it until later, we'd love to have you then. There will be FREE PIZZA. Please make every effort to attend; it will be fun and we have a lot to accomplish that week!

Please note that due to privacy concerns, we will no longer be posting the minutes from powwow planning or NASA meetings on this blog and all previous posts with minutes have been removed. Minutes will be available on the powwow's CTools (a U of M online collaboration & document sharing tool similar to Blackboard) page. If you would like access to the CTools page, please contact any committee member. We can also email minutes to group members if any individuals make a request & would prefer that over CTools.

Zaagidiwin Giizhigad -- Valentine's Day!!

Aanii!

Just a couple of things to share today...

Valentine's Day phrases in Ojibwe!

Also, please consider attending this event tomorrow night if at all possible.
These are useful skills to have in general and could be helpful in future Powwow Planning & NASA work. Besides, why pass up free food?

 Student Organization Roundtable
